Snowfall reports over an approximate 10-hour period included 7 inches at Phoenix and 10 inches at Kearsarge near the Houghton/Keweenaw County line. Schools throughout the county were closed on the 6th due to impacts from the heavy snow.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm tracking across the Upper Great Lakes brought widespread heavy snow to Upper Michigan from the 5th into the 6th.
