Widespread moderate tidal flooding occurred and there were numerous road closures. The tide gauge at Lewes reached 7.51 feet MLLW, the tide gauge at Indian River Inlet reached 5.35 feet MLLW, and the tide gauge at Rosedale Beach reached 5.50 feet MLLW.

Wider weather episode

Deepening low pressure passed off the Middle Atlantic Coast on January 3. The resulting onshore flow caused moderate coastal flooding in the tidal areas of Sussex County around the time of the morning high tide.
