Autospy confirmed Bakersfield man was struck and killed by lightning. The individual was found unresponsive just before 7 PM PDT by a family member.

NWS Incident Meteorologists reported heavy rain that hit the Piute wildfire area caused flash flooding into the Lake Isabella area. Mud and debris flow swept into the town of Lake Isabella causing evacuations and helicopter rescues in and around the town.
The Basin Fire was fought by Sequoia National Forest and burned 1002 acres. Its cause was unknown but there were no fatalities. One primary structure was lost in the fire.
