C & S Weld County storm history

Wind gusts of 55 to 65 mph swept across southern Weld County during the evening of the 17th. A station one mile west of Masters recorded a 65 mph wind gusts. Other strong wind gusts were recorded in the Mead and Johnstown areas.

High-based showers produced wind gusts reaching 55 to 65 mph across southern Weld County. There was also a report of trees and fencing down three miles north of Firestone at 1300 MST.

Wind gusts mostly range 45 to 65 mph across the zone with the strongest gust being 70 mph near Dearfield.

Wind chill readings dropped to -15 to -25.

Based on reports, 2 to 5 inches of snow fell across the the area. Because of the snow and cold temperatures, roads became snow covered and slippery.
