A strong cold front moved across Iowa on January 24th, with morning highs in the 30s that tumbled through the day. By the early morning hours of January 25th, wind chills across northern Iowa were -30 degrees or colder. Temperatures recovered slightly during the daytime hours of the 25th before tumbling once again overnight into the morning of the 26th across northern and northeastern Iowa.
