Moisture overspread the Georgia Piedmont during the evening of the 21st as low pressure developed off the Southeast Coast. Light precipitation developed as a result, with enough cold air in place to allow much of the precip to fall as light snow. By the time the snow tapered off around midnight, around an inch had accumulated across much of the area.
