Event narrative

Thunderstorm gust observed at County Roads 500 North and 225 East. Hail about 0.5 inches in diameter lasted about 5 minutes. Winds blew down a 2 inch limb from a healthy hardwood tree on North Monroe Street in Camden.

Wider weather episode

An anomalously moist environment that promoted adequate instability, combined with a low level jet stream from the southwest to produce two lines of thunderstorms across central Indiana from late evening on March 5th through dawn on March 6th. The second line strengthened along and north of Interstate 70 where it produced embedded strong to severe storms. Damage was most severe in southwestern Madison County.
