A quick-moving area of low pressure passed south of Pennsylvania on March 9, 2022, and progressed off the Delmarva Peninsula and out to sea. This system produced a swatch of 6+ inches of snow in less than 12 hours across portions of the northern mountains of Pennsylvania, with lesser snowfall amounts farther to the south and primarily rain (occasionally mixed with wet snow) in the Lower Susquehanna Valley.
