The extended period of cold weather continued across northeastern Minnesota as another area of cold Canadian high pressure settled into the region in the wake of a cold front the night of the 24th into the 25th. Air temperatures in the -20s and -30s below zero combined with light winds to create wind chills in the -40s with the lowest of -50F being reported by a MNDoT station near Virginia.
