In Lakeville at 6:13 AM EST a tree was down on Precinct St. In Middleborough at 7:20 AM EST there was a tree down across the road on Plymouth St and Wareham St, trees down on Carter St, and several other large trees down in town. In Halifax at 7:33 AM EST there was a tree and wires down on Plymouth St at Pinebrook Dr and at 7:33 AM EST there was a tree and wires down on Elm St. In Pembroke at 7:45 AM EST there was a very large tree down on Pleasant St, a tree down on Congress St, a tree blocking the road near the Duxbury line, a tree down on Chapel St at Yale Rd and a tree and wires down on Cynthia Ave. In Plympton at 7:55 AM EST there were wires down on West St and a tree down on a transformer.
Wider weather episode
Dry and unseasonably mild weather with near record temperatures preceded a period of strong winds late Thursday into Friday. A shortwave trough moving toward the Great Lakes combined with a surface cold front moving through late Thursday brought these winds along with heavy rain.
