Event narrative

The ASOS station that is in Whittier reported light rain showers with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees the morning of the 26th of December leading to rain freezing on surfaces. One of the trained spotters in Whittier reported a little snow. If any freezing rain fell at all, it was extremely light and he did not notice it.

Wider weather episode

Another winter storm moved northward through the Gulf of Alaska a few days after the previous one. As a result, much of Southern Alaska saw another myriad of winter precipitation types in the days leading up to the holiday.
