Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved across Wyoming bringing light snow and gusty wind to many locations. For the most part, snowfall amounts remained light to moderate. An exception was eastern Sweetwater County, where a combination of a dry, powdery snow and winds gusting as high as 45 mph brought near whiteout conditions that led to closure of Interstate 80 for several hours.
