The wider storm

A departing upper trough and afternoon heating were two factors in causing heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over Maui, the Big Island, and Oahu. The rain produced small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding on roadways. No serious property damage or injuries were reported.
