More islands dried out during March as rainfall remained sparse over most areas. Parts of Oahu, Lanai, and the Big Island; and all of Maui, Kahoolawe, and Molokai; deteriorated and were moved into the D2 category of severe drought. By the 29th of the month, small areas of Maui and the Big Island worsened to the D3 category of extreme drought.
