Warm temperatures occurred across the region with widespread highs in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees. John Wayne Airport ASOS hit 91 degrees.

The wider storm

A ridge of high pressure over the western U.S. provided very warm and windy conditions. Areas near the coast reached into the 90s with records broken, along with wind gusts over 70 MPH in parts of the mountains.
