Event narrative

In Duxbury at 650 AM EDT (550 AM EST), a CWOP station recorded a gust to 67 mph. At 447 AM EDT (347 AM EST), the Weatherflow mesonet site at Scituate recorded a wind gust to 61 mph. At 500 AM EDT (400 AM EST), the ASOS at Plymouth Airport (KPYM) recorded a gust to 55 mph. At 555 AM EDT (455 AM EST), the AWOS at Marshfield Airport (KGHG) recorded a gust to 48 mph. At 529 AM EDT (429 AM EST), the Duxbury Fire Dept. reported a tree and wires down on West Street (report relayed by amateur radio).

Wider weather episode

A coastal storm moved northward from the mid-Atlantic coast late on the 18th to interior New England during the pre-dawn morning hours on the 19th. Locally heavy rainfall helped bring down damaging wind gusts from a low-level jet across Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts. The storm system also brought 1 to 4 inches of snow to the east slopes of the Berkshires in northwest Massachusetts.
