One person was killed in a two vehicle accident in Winona. The driver lost control on snow and ice covered roads and slammed into the rear of a parked semi. A mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow occurred from the evening of February 21st into the evening of the 22nd and was responsible for creating the hazard driving conditions.

A mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow fell across portions of southeast Minnesota from the evening of February 21st into the evening of the 22nd. This left roads across the region snow and ice covered. A two vehicle accident in Winona (Winona County) was fatal when the driver lost control and slammed into the rear of a parked semi.
