A CoCoRaHS observer reported 5.5 inches of snow about 3 miles west-northwest of Mayhill.

Wider weather episode

An upper low was moving across the Southern Rockies with a back door cold front moving in from the northeast into Otero County. Snow started the evening of the 2nd and continued into the morning of the 3rd. Snowfall amounts of up to 16 inches were reported in the Sacramento Mountains.
