Cut Bank ASOS reports multiple high wind gusts, with a peak of 78 mph at 6:07 AM.

A strong pressure gradient developed along the Rocky Mountain Front, which resulted in strong, gusty winds to develop and spread across the plains. This was helped by a stable layer near the top of the mountains, which helped to promote the downward transfer of winds from mountaintop levels to the plains.
