The ADOT wind sensor on Interstate 40 at Two Guns reported high wind between 1040 AM and 415 PM MST. The peak wind gust of 66 MPH was at 215 PM MST.
Wider weather episode
A deepening cold upper low across the Pacific Northwest brought strong westerly gradients over Arizona with persistent southwest winds. The strongest winds were observed over the Eastern Mogollon Rim, White Mountains, and the Little Colorado River Valley in Navajo and Apache counties.
