Event narrative
Strong easterly winds persisted over eastern Norton Sound for over 24 hours with routine over 60 mph. The strong winds caused the schools to be cancelled in Unalakleet. The winds also caused damage to sheet metal roofing of several sheds in Unalakleet and knocked over two light poles.
