Event narrative

On Highway 71, just north of Savannah, Missouri a vehicle slid out of control on the snowy roadway. The driver was ejected and sustained serious injuries.

Wider weather episode

A late season system brought widespread light snow to the area, with some pockets of heavier snow. Most of the area saw around 2 to 4 inches of snow, but a few areas approached 6 inches over the course of 12 to 24 hours. A few notable vehicle accidents occurred as a result of the snow covered roadways.
