BFAM station at 12 WNW Cut Bank measured a 51 kt (59 mph) non-thunderstorm wind gust.

Wider weather episode

Strong westerly flow aloft combined with a tightening surface pressure gradient brought strong winds to the Rocky Mountain Front and the plains. H700 winds topped 70 kts, ranging between 3 to 4 standard deviations above climatology.
