Drought in Fresno - Tulare Foothills, California
Drought April 1, 2022 – April 30, 2022 · Fresno - Tulare Foothills, California
What the National Weather Service wrote
The Fresno and Tulare County Foothills were classified as being in a extreme drought due to a long term precipitation deficit.
The wider storm
Rainfall was slightly below normal across much of the area in April. This did not improve the long term precipitation deficit from the previous several months. As a result, nearly all of the central California Interior remained in an extreme drought at the end of April, 2022. As of April, 2022, most of the impacted area has received less than 40% of normal precipitation since July 1, 2020.
