A 66-year-old female tourist was swept away by a rip current and drown in Beach Palmas in Humacao.

Wider weather episode

Strong winds resulted in hazardous seas across the Atlantic waters. Therefore, the risk of rip currents was high for many beaches across Puerto Rico.
