Event narrative

A party of three people (two males and a female) were swept away by the rip currents in Playa Poza las Mujeres in Manati. A 25-year-old male drown, while the rest of the party was rescued.

Wider weather episode

A strong easterly wind flow resulted in hazardous marine and coastal conditions across northern Puerto Rico. This translated in a high rip current risk for many of the local beaches.
