The entire zone went from Moderate(D1) drought to Severe(D2) drought on March 8th. The Cloudcroft Cooperative Observer reported 1.93 inches of precipitation which was 0.48 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Continued dry conditions lead to parts of northern Otero County to be put into Severe(D2) drought in March.
