The Weatherflow mesonet at Bayou Bienvenue measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 42 mph or 36 knots.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front came through southeast Louisiana on the night of March 15th. Strong low level convergence along this boundary combined with the deep layer forcing aloft aided in the development of severe thunderstorm winds over Lake Pontchartrain.
