Deadhorse reported gusts as high as 60 mph with visibility less than one quarter mile. The blizzard conditions persisted for over 24 hours.

Strong high pressure over the Beaufort Sea combined with a deep area of low pressure in the Bering Sea resulted in strong easterly winds and blizzard conditions along the Arctic Coast of Alaska.
