Event narrative

Five trees were blown down along Highway 341 between Akin Road and Wire Road. Some trees fell on power lines.. The time of damage was based on radar.

Wider weather episode

The sea breeze developed and pushed inland just west of I-95 during the afternoon and early evening. Showers and storms developed ahead of the main squall line across GA and as the storms interacted with the sea breeze and outflows, they became severe. SE GA had the highest chance of severe storms where CAPE was near 2000 J/kg,

bulk shear was 50-60 kts, and sfc-3 km storm relative helicity was 200-300 m2/s2. A Tornado Watch was issued for all of SE GA and the adjacent nearshore Atlantic waters.
