A thunderstorm produced a lightning strike that sparked a house fire on Pleasant Valley Road to the southeast of Breezewood.

A Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV) passed over Pennsylvania from the late morning into the mid afternoon hours of May 20, 2022, triggering the development of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms that crossed southern Pennsylvania became severe, producing localized wind damage and one quarter-sized hail report.
