Multiple sensors measured gusts in excess of 58 mph, including a 69 mph wind gust at Cut Bank Airport ASOS (KCTB).

Wider weather episode

A deepening shortwave trough passed over the Northern Rockies. The dynamics with this system were rather impressive, complete with 50 to 70 kt mid-level flow and a strong cold front with H700 temperatures in the -10 to -15C range.
