Event narrative

Two mesonets measured gusts greater than 58 mph, including mesonet station mtbrn - Two Medicine Bridge (MT DOT) which measured a 66 mph gust.

Wider weather episode

A deepening shortwave trough passed over the Northern Rockies. The dynamics with this system were rather impressive, complete with 50 to 70 kt mid-level flow and a strong cold front with H700 temperatures in the -10 to -15C range.
