Event narrative

A waterspout was observed via NWS rooftop cameras and the duty weather observer at Naval Air Station Key West Boca Chica Field, approximately 9 miles south of Key West. The condensation cloud extended about halfway from the cloud base to the surface and was generally vertical. No spray ring was observed.

Wider weather episode

Conditions were favorable for the development of multiple cumulus cloud lines around the Lower, Middle and Upper Florida Keys. Several waterspouts were observed.
