A few trees blown down due to thunderstorm winds.

Wider weather episode

A warm front lifted north into southwest Virginia sparking numerous showers and storms. Damaging winds and large hail accompanied these storms. The combination of robust instability and good shear helped the thunderstorms organize into a line as it progressed east into the Piedmont.
