Department of Transportation reported 14 inches of snow near mile 46 with 10 inches of snow at one of the park services in Valdez. Department of Transportation also reported 6 inches of snow at Ernestine Camp itself near mile 62.

Wider weather episode

A storm system moving northeastward through the Gulf of Alaska sent heavy precipitation in the form of heavy snow to the Copper River Basin and Prince William Sound area as it ran into Arctic air already in place.
