Event narrative

Manokotak reported one half mile visibility or lower with moderate snow and freezing fog for 3 hours from January 20th 12:21 PM until January 20th 15:25 PM as well as winds northeasterly near 22 knots sustained with gusts to 28 knots. Manokotak, Togiak, and Platinum all reported around 3 hours at one half mile visibility or below from noon to 3 pm AKST, although Togiak winds were unknown, and Platinum had winds near 12-15 knots sustained. Manokotak experienced intermittent periods of one half mile visibility before and after the main bulk of the event from 10 am through 6 pm on the 20th.

Wider weather episode

A large storm system brought far reaching impacts to much of Southern Alaska between the 19th to 21st with a comradery of precipitation types as well as gusty winds.
