Department of Transportation in Chitina reported 9 inches of snow.

A winter storm moving northward through the Gulf of Alaska sent precipitation in the form of snow into the Arctic air entrenched over Southcentral Alaska resulting in heavy snowfall. Southwest Alaska was on the backside of the system and experienced strong gusty winds and low visibilities due to blowing snow and wind chills.
