Event narrative

A damage survey found evidence of a microburst due to a severe thunderstorm. Several large tree limbs were snapped, and a few trees blown down, including one that fell on a pickup truck. Extensive crop damage was found in the area as well.

Wider weather episode

A weak cool front dropped into Northeastern NC during the afternoon hours. Supercell thunderstorms developed along the front and became severe, producing both large hail and damaging wind gusts.
