FL State Watch office reported a road closure on SR-26, locally University Ave, due to a tree down across the west bound lanes. Nearby ASOS KGNV reported a gust of 58 MPH at 1:44 PM EST.

Wider weather episode

Dry cold front over the area moved eastward into the Atlantic waters while high pressure was over the Gulf of Mexico. This tightened the pressure gradient over the area. Sunny skies helped to mix down stronger winds to the surface. A Wind Advisory was in effect for northeast FL and southeast GA in order to account for stronger non-convective wind gusts ranging from 40-60 mph.
