Sent as visibility was very low during the evening commute due to a heavy snow band that set up over Anchorage with up to 1 inch per hour snowfall rates. Therefore, this was mostly sent due to the impacts expected.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm sent precipitation into Arctic air entrenched across much of Southern Alaska resulting in snow and blowing snow. The storm also combined with arctic air over the Bering and a tight pressure gradient resulting in blizzard conditions for the Pribilof Islands.
