Kenai Tower reported 4 inches. Kenai reported short periods of rain with mostly snow; Soldotna reported several reports of unknown precipitation as well.

Wider weather episode

A far reaching winter storm set up a tight pressure gradient on its western side resulting in high winds for the Eastern Aleutians. On the north side of the storm, precipitation overran Arctic air already in place across the North Pacific resulting in heavy snowfall.
