High westerly winds occurred across the Coachella Valley on April 11th and 12th. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph were common across the area, with some localized higher gusts. An observation site near the Boyd Deep Canyon recorded a peak wind gust to 61 mph at 1:00 AM on the 12th.
