The month started out with the entire zone in Extreme(D3) drought, but by the end of the month, the southern half of the zone was in Exceptional(D4) drought. The Hillsboro Cooperative Observer reported no precipitation which was 0.35 inches below normal.

No precipitation fell in April for almost all the area which lead to an expansion of Severe

(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions.
