The western half of the zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought with the east in Extreme(D3) drought. No precipitation was reported at the Truth or Consequences Airport which was 0.27 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

No precipitation fell in April for almost all the area which lead to an expansion of Severe

(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions.
