The zone remained in Severe(D2) drought through the month of April. The Cooperative Observer in Cloudcroft received no precipitation which was 0.85 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

No precipitation fell in April for almost all the area which lead to an expansion of Severe

(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought conditions.
