The Truth or Consequences Airport recorded a peak gust of 62 mph. Other wind gusts included 59 mph at Spaceport America and 58 mph at Arrey.

Wider weather episode

An upper low was moving out of the Great Basin and into western Wyoming. A strong surface low was over eastern Colorado with a lee trough extending down to Mexico east of the Rio Grande. Southwest winds across southwestern New Mexico gusted up to 70 mph as this system moved through.
