A surface boundary associated with the remnants of a Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) that moved across the Midwest the previous afternoon and evening, and across the Central Appalachians and into W NC overnight, moved south through the region and provided a focus for scattered severe thunderstorms during the morning to midday hours.
