A waterspout was observed about 15 miles southeast of Key West. The waterspout had a bent shape, with a spray ring visible.

A surge of deep tropical moisture from the northwest Caribbean Sea as high pressure built across the western north Atlantic resulted in numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms. Several areas of gale-force wind gusts developed from thunderstorm outflows.
