The Southern California Edison Station at Paradise Cove measured a peak wind gust of 58 mph.

A low pressure system moving through the Pacific Northwest pushed a cold front through the area between the evening of June 12 and the evening of June 14 resulting in a period of gusty winds along the Mojave Desert slopes in Kern County during this time frame. The strongest winds were observed during the early afternoon of June 13 when law enforcement reported two tractor trailers were overturned as a result of the increased winds. Several stations in the Kern County Mountains and Mojave Desert Slopes measured peak gusts between 60 mph and 75 mph.
